THE fruit season is here at last and gardeners with surplus fruit or nuts can donate them to the Down to Earth project which will turn them into sauces and dried fruit products.
"Last year we officially launched this exciting project and even though the harvest generally was very poor, we were able to make a range of products to sell locally, " said the project's Amanda Godber.
"We are looking forward to an even better year this year, so if you have any fruit you can donate to us, including windfalls, please let us know. We are happy to come and pick them."
