STROUD sculptor Karen Edgehill has donated a handcrafted limestone bust to an auction in aid of the Door Youth Project.
Stone from a quarry near Tetbury has been carved into the beautiful form of a young girl’s head.
Valued at £300, the bust has been named Venus after the Roman Godess of love.
It will now be auctioned at a black tie charity dinner on September 14 at the Whitminster Inn.
Several celebrities have donated to the auction.
Door chief executive Brendan Conboy said: “We have been amazed by the response of celebrities who want to help and this week we received some signed postcards from the Top Gear team."
Businesses are being urged to treat staff by booking tickets to the event. For ticket details and to book go to www.blacktiedinner.weebly.com
