SHORTWOOD will net £67,500 from their live TV FA Cup match against Port Vale.

The lowest ranked team left in this season’s FA Cup will feature in BT Sport’s final live broadcast tie from the First Round on Monday 11 November - when they take on Micky Adams’ Vale at the Meadowbank Stadium.

Both clubs will receive £67,500 from The FA’s broadcast fund while the winners get £18,000 from The FA Cup prize fund.

Shortwood have already won close to 30,000 from their cup exploits this season.

Shortwood midfielder James Baldwin said: “To appear on live TV is awesome and to net this type of money is brilliant for the club.

"The lads are on at the chairman for a trip to Vegas now.”

The minnows from the Southern League Division One South & West shocked Aldershot 2-1 in a replay on Tuesday to book a place against their League One opponents.

Shortwood had been on the verge of exiting the competition last Saturday before Sean Lawson’s last gasp goal forced a replay back at Aldershot.

Goals from Duncan Culley and Adam Mann humbled the Conference side on Tuesday and put the Woods in the national spotlight.

Entry will be all-ticket and full arrangements including ticket sales will be announced tomorrow, Friday.
