COMMUNITIES minister Kris Hopkins was given a tour of Stroud Shambles Market while on a visit to the town last week.
Stroud MP Neil Carmichael showed off the town's community spirit at the market on a Friday, May 16 as well as a visit to the independent shops along the high street.
Mr Hopkins spoke with members of the public and stallholders as well as discussing the importance of community initiatives.
Mr Carmichael said: “I am delighted that the Minister was able to visit the thriving Shambles Market and see for himself the impact of the community spirit in Stroud town centre.
“Promoting our high streets across the Valleys and Vale is a key part of boosting the local economy and ensuring local businesses thrive.”
