LIBRARIES across Gloucestershire are recruiting volunteers to inspire children to read this summer.
The national Summer Reading Challenge gets three quarters of a million children to read six library books in the summer holidays.
Working alongside library staff, voluntary reading activists help children read for the Summer Reading Challenge, assist with creative reading and writing events, and gain new skills and accreditation for volunteering along the way. There will also be the chance to meet writers, artists and other creative people.
