POLICE investigating the discovery of a body in a car fire on Rodborough Common in Stroud yesterday, Wednesday, are now treating the cause of death as non-suspicious.
Officers were called by the fire service to a Vauxhall Frontera that was alight on Rodborough Common in Stroud at 4.55am and discovered a body in the car shortly after arrival.
While formal identification has not yet been possible, detectives have made contact with the family of the registered owner - a 60-year-old man from Hertfordshire.
The coroner has also been informed.
The scene was closed off and road closures put in place while forensic inquiries were carried out. These have now been removed.
