A SPECIAL tribute to those who lost their lives in conflict was undertaken by pupils at Gastrells Primary School in Rodborough.
Inspired by the display at the Tower of London, children worked with artist Julie Fowler to create two ceramic poppies each.
One poppy has been placed in the school grounds as an act of remembrance while the other was sold with the money raised going to the Poppy Appeal.
Headteacher Kate Merriman says: “We held a class assembly on Tuesday, on the theme of remembrance, followed by two minutes silence, then finished by going outside to see the poppies which have been planted on the bank at the back of the school.
“Each class planted their own section and there are approximately 200 in place, with members of staff and parents joining in. They are now on permanent display, and they look beautiful.”
