A YELLOW warning of rain has been issued for Stroud by the Met Office as heavy and severe thunderstorms are forecast to hit the region from Friday night.
Torrential downpours could also lead to localised flooding, while hail and lightning are also predicted.
The weather warning is in place from 7pm tonight (Friday) until 12 noon on Saturday.
Before then it will be a bright, sunny day for Stroud with temperatures reaching about 25 C later this afternoon.
It will start to cloud over from about 6pm, with possible showers emerging from 9pm.
