HOW shocking it was to read in the paper about the homeless in Stroud.
OPENhouse can provide shelter for up to 60 people who would otherwise be sleeping rough, but there are more who they cannot house.
Can’t the council find homes for these people?
Looking on the SNJ website another story caught my eye, Stroud District Council has committed to resettling between five and 10 refugee families over the next 12 months under the Syrian Vulnerable Persons Relocation scheme.
Are they going to provide for our local homeless first or do Syrians take priority?
I am sorry that these people have to flee their homeland but surely our own homeless should be provided for first.
Charity does after all begin at home but it does not make such good headlines.
