VOLUNTEERS have dusted down the shelves of a storefront at Brimscombe Port in Stroud to launch a second-hand bookshop.

The shop also sells puzzles, DVDs and CDs with money raised going towards the Cotswold Canal Trust waterway restoration project.

“We’ve got a fantastic collection of second-hand books, from sex books to the Bible,” said Anna Watts, who runs the shop with her husband, Alan.

The couple provide a pleasant atmosphere in the store with complementary teas and coffees for customers, a jigsaw puzzle which people can work on and music from an old-fashioned record player.

It is open Saturdays and Tuesdays 10am – 4pm.
