THE chance to explore a sculpture park at a medieval and Tudor manor house in Bisley is here again.

To celebrate its architectural and cultural heritage the Lynn Chadwick Sculpture Park is open to the public on Sunday, September 11 from 2pm-6pm thanks to the Chadwick family.

The sculptor and artist Lynn Chadwick who lived at Lypiatt Park until his death aged 88 in 2003 has work in New York, London and Paris.

Part of the grounds of the grade one listed building provide the setting for 32 of his finest works.

To attend the event, organised by Stroud Civic Society, visitors must pre-book tickets through the Tourist Information Office in Stroud which will become available as of August 30.

Although the tickets are free to secure them residents will need to fill out an application form and tickets will then be posted to recipients on a first come first serve basis.

Applicants who live out of the area can contact the Tourist Information Office on 01453 760960 and they will e-mail you an application form.

The weekend is part of England’s European Heritage Days, a Council of Europe initiative which sees similar events taking place in 44 countries.

Gallery Pangolin is sponsoring the event this year.

For further information contact Juliet Shipman on 01453 751751.
