THREE cars overturned within the space of an hour at different locations in Stroud district on Friday.

The first incident happened at 11.50am when a VW Beetle ended up on its side after a crash on Birdlip Hill.

Fortunately the female driver was uninjured in the incident but the road was closed for a couple of hours while recovery and highway crews attended.

Fifty minutes later, two people were injured during a crash between a Mercedes and a Landrover in Peter's Street, Frocester.

The Mercedes overturned at 12.40pm and blocked the road near The Frocester George pub.

Then ten minutes later another car ended up on its side after losing control on a corner near the Stirrup Cup pub in Bisley. No one was injured in the incident.

Police said the crash involving a Citroen C1 happened on Cheltenham Road near the High Street and Van Der Breen Street at 12.50pm.

“A single vehicle involved which ended up on its side whilst taking a bend,” a spokeswoman said.
