A POPULAR Minchinhampton café has closed its doors after four years in the town.
Munchinhampton, in West End just off the High Street, opened in 2013 under the guidance of Shortwood couple Adam Atkins and Holly Bevan.
But after four years of breakfasts, lunches and evening meals the popular stop – formerly called His and Hers – has closed its doors as the couple head for a new venture.
The couple left a message on the café door to inform customers of the sad news - they officially closed on September 10.
“It is with sadness we inform you that Munchinhampton will be closing its doors indefinitely,” it read.
“We wish to take this moment to thank all our customers for their business and support, and for welcoming us into the community here in Minchinhampton over the last four years.
“We hope to see as many of you as possible so that we can say our goodbyes to the wonderful friends we have made here, and hope that you all wish us well as we move on to future ventures.”
The couple had garnered their catering prowess by working at The Catherine Wheel in Bibury, The Weighbridge near Minchinhampton and at Tubby’s in Nailsworth.
Speaking to the SNJ shortly after opening in 2013, Adam said: “There's no magic involved, we are simply using quality local ingredients and produce to give diners a great choice of tasty, freshly-made dishes."
The café is now up for sale and retains all the equipment needed for a new owner to move in and reopen its doors.
