A customer bought a chocolate bar then grabbed £200 from Stonehouse Co-op.
The theft happened at around 6.05pm on Tuesday, October 24.
It’s believed that the man entered the store, selected a chocolate bar and stood in the queue.
He paid for the chocolate and when the till opened he reached over the counter and stole the money before running out of the shop.
The thief is described as a white male of slim build with short dark hair.
He is believed to be in his 20s, was wearing dark coloured trousers and a grey jacket with yellow lining inside of the hood.
Incidents are asked to call police on 101 or email 101@gloucestershire.police.uk and quote incident number 441 of October 24.
