IN the most recent issue of the Stroud News & Journal we have a vast range of fundraising achievements from throughout the Five Valleys.

Amy Gomer was among thousands who took part in the Stroud Half Marathon.

Her mission does not end there, as she is set to complete five half marathons within as many weeks.

She is also among those who put their best feet forward in a bid to raise money for good causes.

Residents in the Five Valleys have truly stepped up to the challenge, and it is heartwarming to see.

Also in this week’s paper we have another successful year of the Rotary firework display on the Marling School playing fields.

Profits from this event are all given to good causes in the area and young people in particular.

On top of this we also have the Mydentist team in Stroud, who walked 19km from Eastington to Sapperton for Cancer Research UK.

This is topped off by the family of beloved Stroud illustrator Pete Morris, who are releasing Christmas cards which feature his artwork in a bid to raise money for their new charity Sunflowers Suicide Support.

A hearty congratulations to all the Five Valleys fundraisers.
