FIREFIGHTERS have successfully extinguished a second 'out-of-control' bonfire in the centre of Stroud this evening.
A crew from Stroud Fire Station was dispatched just after 9pm, following reports from members of the public of a fire in the grounds of St. Roses Church.
Witnesses described the fire as 'out-of-control' near The Old Convent, with flames reaching up to five metres high.
Firefighters used a hose reel to put the fire out, with crews still at the scene, damping down the bonfire and surrounding area.
