A PUNK, pop, country and blue-grass five-piece charged with a shot of Jamieson (or two) and playing in the middle of a field in Wiltshire? That'll be WOMAD 2018 then.

If you wander past a packed marquee at 3pm, and the crowd is calling for the band are heckling from the stage and there's smoke coming from a fiddle - then you know you're on to a good thing.

Playing banjos, washboards, fiddles and singing high lonesome harmonies - while rocking a dungeree wearing, barefoot stomping look Austin band Whiskey Shivers are a treat to stumble across, whatever time of day.

“We try to bring everyone into the moment,” explains frontman Bobby Fitzgerald, “to get them to realise there’s no wall between us and the crowd. We’re all in this together.”
