The family of Stroud community stalwart Edna Powell would like to thank everyone who donated money in her memory.
More than £2,000 has so far been collected from the funeral service and from other donations.
The money will go towards the Pied Piper Appeal and the oncology unit at Cheltenham General Hospital.
Edna’s daughter Louise would also like to thank everyone for their kindness and support over the last few months.
“The heartfelt memories, tributes and stories have helped us greatly,” she said. “We have sent out so many thank you cards but have not been able to thank everyone and would like to take this opportunity to do so.”
Edna passed away peacefully at the age of 76 in July.
Known by hundreds as the owner of Cotswold Sewing and Knitting Machines in Stroud, Edna was an active member of the community and famous face in the town for more than 40 years.
She was the long-time chairman of the Stroud Country Show and is famed for at one point being involved in almost every aspect of community life.
