Members of the Gloucestershire Camera Club have been capturing some of the stunning sunsets that the region has been enjoying over the recent weeks.
The wonderful natural spectacles which feature bursts of pink, red, purple and orange have resulted in the Facebook members snapping some breathtaking shots.
These beautiful effects are caused by the scattering of light as it enters the earth’s atmosphere at different angles.
As the sun sets the light has further to travel and the longer wave lengths of red and yellow colours to appear in the sky.
A low autumn sun and a variety of different cloud formations can add to the colourful sunsets which provide a strong back-drop to the county’s many dramatic views.
