WITHNAIL and I is one of the most popular cult films of the twentieth century.

There are fans out there who know all of the words and watch the film at every opportunity; but rarely do they get the chance to see the film on a large screen.

So it is good to see that tonight, Friday, members and guests of Nailsworth Film Club will have an opportunity to see this British classic about friendship, acting and alcohol.

Directed in 1987 by Bruce Robinson, Withnail and I takes the viewer on a trip to a bohemian world that seems no longer to exist, where ideas were more important than image and people were prepared to follow them into desperation and debauchery.

Oh, and it also stars Richard E Grant, Paul McGann and a great soundtrack.

Nailsworth Film Club presents Withnail and I at Main Hall at Nailsworth Primary School, Forest Green tonight, Friday, September 28.

The bar opens at 7.30pm and the film starts at 8pm.

Guest tickets for non-members can be purchased in advance from www.nailsworthfilmclub.co.uk at a cost of £5 per film. Guests must be accompanied by a member.
