FAMILY and friends of Lisa Williams have come together to place a bench in Leonard Stanley Primary School in her memory.

Lisa, 24, left behind her two children when she died after being hit by a car last December.

She worked at the play group which meets on the school grounds and the bench is placed under a weeping willow tree which Lisa loved.

Lisa Regan, play leader, said: "It seemed the best place to have the bench to celebrate her life.

"I have such fond memories of her. She was here for the children's best interests and loved her work."

Sponsorship for the bench, which reads "In loving memory of Lisa Williams" was received from local companies and individuals.

Born in Gloucester, Lisa moved to Leonard Stanley in 1983 and was educated at the village primary school and Maidenhill before attending Stroud College, where she studied for a childcare qualification.

Lisa's son Ethan was nine at the time of her death and her daughter Hollie was only nine weeks old.
