A wild boar may have been spotted on Rodborough Common earlier this week, according to members of the Nailsworth Chat & Information Facebook page.
It was spotted on Monday, December 3 at 7.30am by a man who said he almost hit the wild pig.
Apparently, it was running across the road in between Rodborough Fort and the Bear Hotel.
This comes after reports that wild boar increasingly roams into urban areas.
Last year, a boar was seen wandering around Gloucester city centre, which has helped to push fears that the native pigs’ have become more daring.
One member of the Facebook page said: "Wild boar are very competent swimmers, they have now crossed the river into Gloucester outskirts."
