POLICE are seeking teenagers in the Stroud district to take part in an adventure packed trip to Wales.

There are 18 places available on the Outward Bound course in Aberdovey next February, and the selection process is starting soon.

The course is aimed at giving young people an opportunity to develop their potential and recognise the positive contribution they make to their communities.

Participants must be aged between 14 and 19, reasonably fit, and either at risk of being socially excluded or lacking in appropriate adult support or self esteem.

They could also have shown commitment or courage by running local youth or community activities or dealing with a serious or long-term situation.

The trip, which is run by Gloucestershire Constabulary with the county's Outward Bound Association, runs from February 11 to 15.

Anybody wishing to nominate somebody should write to PC Dannat, Community Partnership Department, County Police Headquarters, No 1 Waterwells, Waterwells Drive, Gloucester, Quedgeley, Gloucestershire, GL2 2AN.

Entries must include the nominee's name, date of birth, address, contact number, a brief but accurate pen portrait of the nominee and why they deserve to go on the course.
