WORRYING figures have been released following an appeal from Chalford Parish Council to find land for a new cemetery.
The current burial ground at Frith Wood, Bussage, only has 61 spaces remaining, 34 of which are reserved.
Cllr David Parrott also said at the council's monthly meeting on Thursday, that 11 burials have already happened this year, and 18 took place last year.
"We haven't got much time and this does emphasise the need for new land," said Cllr Parrott at the meeting.
The council is still appealing to land owner for help so the parish can continue to have its own burial ground.
It is feared people from the village will have to be buried in a cemetery outside the area such as Gloucester and Cheltenham if a plot of land is not found.
