A GARDEN centre regional manager is hoping that customers will dig deep and help him to raise money for a charity that supports people living with a terminal illness, and their families.
Tim Dowds, Lechlade Garden Centre regional manager, plans to run the Minchinhampton 10k this weekend, Sunday, March 10, to raise money for the centre’s nominated charity, Marie Curie, Chris Roberts writes.
Tim, who lives in Minchinhampton, has set up a just giving page to raise money, but is also hoping that customers will fill the collecting tins at the garden centre.
He is taking part in the run with virtually no preparation. "I can assure you that this is going to hurt, so please help make it all worthwhile," he said.
"Every pound raised really will help to make a significant difference to many people."
Two other members of Lechlade Garden Centre, Katherine from the restaurant and Matt from Maidenhead Aquatics, have also decided to raise money for Marie Curie by running a 10k at the same time as Tim, at 10am on Sunday, March 10, by running 40 laps of the garden centre’s overflow car park field.
