PAINSWICK garden designer Paul Hervey-Brookes has scooped his third gold medal at the 2019 RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
The artisan horticulturalist was delighted to receive the accolade for a Nordic themed entry to the show that he designed with Viking Cruises.
Since the show opened on Monday, Paul has been welcoming a host celebrity garden lovers, from Mary Berry to Dame Judi Dench, to see his Art of Viking design.
Showcased in the ‘Space to Grow’ category, the multi-layered wetland habitat is reminiscent of a water meadow, with multi-stem river birches and winding streams running through the space.
Paul took inspiration for the design, textures, plants and colour palette from artwork on board Viking’s newest ocean ship, Viking Orion, including a painting by Norwegian impressionist Jakob Weidemann, Impressions on Nature, and ceramic plates by Anette Krogstad.
