Less than half the Stroud district voted in yesterday's European elections, despite an increased turnout.
Kathy O'Leary, CEO of Stroud District Council and returning officer for the Stroud counting area, confirmed a turnout of 46.3 per cent.
The district has an electorate of 93,078, with 43,119 voting in yesterday's election for the south west and Gibraltar region.
Turnout in the district was up 4 per cent from the last European elections in 2014.
The count will take place on Sunday evening once voting has taken place in all EU countries.
