A Stroud man has been banned from the road for two-and-a-half years after being found more than three times over the limit.
Shane Giles, 41, of Bowbridge Lock, Stroud, was caught on London Road on April 10.
He was found to have 126 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.
Giles pleaded guilty when he appeared at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court on May 13.
He was given a community order which states he must receive treatment for alcohol dependency.
Giles was banned from driving for 30 months and ordered to pay fines and costs totalling £220.
