A Stroud author who has won multiple awards since she starting writing five years ago has released a collection of short stories.

Chloe Turner has released seventeen of her short stories in a collection called Witches Sail in Eggshells.

She won the Bath Short Story Award's local prize in consecutive years with two of the stories featured in the collection: 'Breaking the Glassblower's Heart' and 'Witches Sail in Eggshells'.

Another story from the collection, 'Waiting for the Runners', was included in Salt Publishing's Best Short Stories 2018 anthology.

Friends and family gathered at the Stroud Centre for Science and Art for a launch party including an introduction from John Holland, organizer of Stroud Short Stories, and a reading from the author.

Chloe said: "I started writing short stories when my children were very young. Right from the start, in my own pieces, I found I was naturally drawn to the tiniest interactions between people – how we lift each other up, and how we let each other down, even those we care about most.

"It has taken a few years to pull together this collection, but it contains the stories that best reflect that fascination."

Witches Sail in Eggshells is available from Stroud Bookshop.
