FREE yoga sessions will be held on Rodborough Common later this month, led by instructor Elles Theulen.

This will be the sixth year that Elles has run the sessions, but this year she will be hosting classes in the morning and in the evening each day.

These will run from July 22 to 26, Monday to Friday, 10am to 11am, and 6pm to 7pm.

"It's a unique opportunity to get to know this popular practice, or if you're already familiar with it to get to enjoy it in our great outdoors," she said.

She added: "The yoga sequence for the Common is designed around the glorious views from the top, so that you will face in different direction and get to take in the whole panorama while you stretch, breathe and unwind.

"Yoga is very calming and refreshing as it is, but practicing outdoors, feeling the breeze, being under that vast sky with only the sounds of the birds and the wind in the trees really adds another dimension.

"You start to see things a little differently. As one of the participants said last year: 'I come here every day to walk my dog, but after the yoga I notice all these details I never saw before. It’s beautiful.'"

The sessions are suitable for all abilities, but are for adults only.

Bring a yoga mat if you have one, if not bring a beach towel or picnic blanket.

Summer Yoga is a charitable event. The classes are offered free of charge and participants are welcome to join as many times as they like.

"If however you wish to give something in return you could make a donation to a charity of your choice on Kishori Yoga’s behalf," said Elles.

Elles teaches hatha flow yoga for various levels, yin yoga and runs workshops, yoga retreats and private sessions in the area.
