BLOOD donor sessions in Nailsworth have a new venue.
Sessions had been taking place at Forest Green Rovers Football Club but, due to a rise in venue hire costs, they have now been moved to Nailsworth Town Hall.
Joanne Curtis, Area Matron for NHS Blood and Transplant, said: “NHS Blood and Transplant is moving the donation session currently held at Forest Green Rovers Football Club to the Town Hall in Nailsworth.
"This is just over one mile away and follows an increase in venue hire costs at the football club.
"We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused to donors.
“Some venues charge us to hire their building to collect blood and we have a responsibility to help keep costs as low as possible for the wider NHS.
“We are extremely grateful when venues are able to meet our needs at a reduced price, or preferably without charging us at all.
“We appreciate everyone who gives up their time to donate blood and we look forward to seeing our local donors again soon.”
The first donation session at the town hall is taking place this week.
The blood service now operates through an appointment-only model and anyone who would like to donate is asked to book a place via
blood.co.ukor by calling 0300 123 2323.
