THE sound of gongs was moosic to the ears of a new audience yesterday morning.

Gong master Aidan McIntyre treated the cows on Minchinhampton Common to a gong bath.

Gong baths use the resonance and meditative effects of harmonic frequencies to help still the mind and allow the body to deeply relax.

"In a nutshell, for ten minutes, the 'butterfly mind' takes a holiday and you float away on an oceanic field of sound vibrations," said Aidan.

He will be running gong therapy sessions at Days Mill Therapy Rooms in Nailsworth on Saturday, from 11am to 5pm. It will cost £5 for10 minutes, and children, pets and cows are free.
