POLICE have thanked a Pitchcombe businessman for making them some protective face shields for use during the coronavirus pandemic.
Richard Smith of Rselectro-Tech dropped off a batch of face shields with the Gloucestershire Police Specials team, to go with their personal protective equipment (PPE) kits.
Chief inspector Steve Lindsay MBE tweeted: "Thanks to Richard for manufacturing us some face shields to go into our PPE kits."
Richard, who put his 3D printers to work to create the face shields, said: "Really pleased to be volunteering something to help the NHS during this very testing time ."
He also dropped off 20 more shields with the police, who then delivered them to the local surgery for NHS distribution.
