A 27-YEAR-old Slough man travelled to Stroud and Swindon in breach of lockdown rules to go on a shoplifting spree, a court heard yesterday.
Andrei-Niscusor Dogaru, of College Avenue, Slough, pleaded guilty at Cheltenham Magistrates Court to going equipped for theft on June 5th by having two rucksacks and a magnetic de-tagger in Stroud, and not being at his place of abode.
He also admitted the theft of a large quantity of spirits, ink cartridges, razors and electric items valued between £2,700 and £3,000 from Tesco in Stratford Road, Stroud.
Dogarus also pleaded guilty to the theft of £275 worth of toiletries from Asda in Swindon on April 5 and contravening the Covid-19 emergency coronavirus legislation by travelling from Slough to Swindon without reasonable excuse.
District Judge Joti Bopa Rai adjourned the hearing until June 29 to allow time for pre-sentence reports to be prepared.
Dagaru was released on conditional bail that included not to enter Gloucestershire or Wiltshire unless he is attending court.
