A MAN from Stroud has pleaded guilty to stealing alcohol and a Pot Noodle, and assaulting a police officer.
Elliot Paget, 46, of Capel Court, admitted to stealing two bottles of wine from the Co-op on Slad Road on May 4, and then taking a bottle of sauvignon blanc, two cans of Jack Daniels and coke, and a Pot Noodle from the same store later in the month.
He also pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer in Stroud on May 4, and failing to appear at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court, after being released on bail on May 5.
At a hearing at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court on July 10, the defendant was ordered to have treatment for alcohol dependency for six months and was banned from the Co-op on Slad Road for 12 months.
He was also ordered to pay a total of £230 in fines and costs.
