A 25-year-old woman who assaulted four police officers in two separate incidents in Stroud and Stonehouse has walked free from court with a community order.

At Cheltenham Magistrates Court on August 20, Kirsty Rule, formerly of Stonehouse but now of of Shenley Fields Road, Birmingham, pleaded guilty to assaulting four emergency workers by beating.

She admitted assaulting Pcs Thomas Shearman and Joseph Hanks in Stroud on March 14 this year and Pcs Ed Jarvis and Charlotte Tucker on April 11 in Stonehouse.

The magistrates sentenced her to a community order with a 20 day rehabilitation activity requirement.

A 38-year old man who kicked and stamped on a pregnant woman in her Stroud home has been jailed for three years and two months.

Lee Gomersall, 38, of no fixed abode, was due to stand trial at Gloucester Crown Court on Wednesday but changed his plea at the last minute and admitted assaulting the 20 year old woman causing her actual bodily harm.

He had already pleaded guilty to breaching the terms of a five year sexual risk order imposed by Cheltenham magistrates in 2017 to prevent him associating with the woman.

A nuclear power plant manager lost his job and his marriage after downloading child pornography images, a court heard.

His ‘dramatic fall from grace’ happened after police received intelligence that child porn images were being downloaded at Richard Morrison's home in The Tynings, Minchinhampton.

The judge sentenced Morrison to a two-year community order that includes undertaking 200 hours of unpaid work, 35 rehabilitation activity requirement days and ordered him to sign the sex offenders’ register for five years.

A GLOUCESTERSHIRE burglar who raided a Wiltshire mansion went on the run before being arrested 120 miles away because he thought he was 'too old' for jail.

Danny O'Loughlin, 44, was convicted in 2008 for his part in a series of burglaries around Britain in which £30 million of high value antiques were stolen.

He was released three years ago, but was told last February he was being recalled to prison for breaching the terms of his release over a theft accusation.

But he refused to give himself up and was travelling to a building job in Maidstone, Kent, when he was finally stopped and arrested during a random police stop at the M25 Clacket Lane Services on June 18 this year.

He was jailed for a total of four-and-a-half months.

A 42 YEAR old Bourton on the Water man has been banned from driving for 22 months and placed under home curfew after he was caught at the wheel while two and a half times over the alcohol limit.

At Cheltenham Magistrates Court on August 20, Mervyn Mayo of The Furrows, Bourton, pleaded guilty to driving a Ford Fiesta in Leasows Lane, Great Rissington, on 30th December last year while he had 206mgs of alcohol in 100mls of blood.
