A man has been given a suspended prison sentence after assaulting two women in Stroud.

Ben Jones, 34, caused actual bodily harm to one of the women he assaulted on July 5.

Jones, of The Travelodge, Eastington, also destroyed at TV and chair belonging to one of the victims.

The 'sustained attack' was carried out under the influence of alcohol and with children present, but the court found the defendant was in stable employment and keen to work with probation to rehabilitate his behaviour.

Jones was handed a 20-week prison sentence suspended for 24 months.

 

Chance Gough, 28, of Springfield Road, Uplands, Stroud has pleaded guilty to being in charge of a vehicle under the influence of a number banned substances.

Gough was caught in his Audi on Castle Street, Stroud, on September 27 last year, having taken cocaine, ketamine and cannabis.

He has been remanded on unconditional bail until November 5.
