A talented Stroud artist will be holding her first exhibition this Sunday.

Nicole Andan's exhibition, called The Luna Collection, opens at the Candy hair salon in Kendrick Street.

The Luna Collection is a mini-series of textured, contemporary art.

The collection comprises ten original pieces of mixed-media art in various sizes, each is individually named after a moon within the solar system based on its unique attributes.

Nicole said: "The exhibition will also highlight the juxtaposition between light and shade, the rough and the smooth and how art, like life, rarely delivers its full potential without embracing both."

Nicole Barbara Arts began as a passion project for Nicole during lockdown, and despite continuing her job as a Trainer for the Ministry of Defence in Bristol and home-schooling a four-year-old, Nicole was struggling with shielding due to a disability, so she went back to an adolescent passion – painting.

Nicole quickly found a rhythm and a joy in the creative experience, but the house was filling up with art and she wanted to see if there was a market for any of the art she was creating.

Through social media, Nicole discovered a group called the Female Creatives who helped build her confidence, discussed business ideas and offered free training in a variety of forms. With the art selling well Nicole began to create her first art collection, the Luna Collection.

Nicole will be raising money for charity at the event.

The exhibition takes place on Sunday, October 25 from 10.30am to 4pm.
