RUBY AMOS

Formerly of Stonehouse and Nailsworth, died peacefully on 26th November, 2020 at The Old Vicarage, Frampton-on-Severn, aged 88 years, following a long battle with dementia.

She was the widow of Cliff Amos and a much-loved mother to John and Carissa, Viv and Annie, Clive and Julie and Paul and Julie.

She was dearly loved by all her many grandchildren.

Unfortunately, due to her illness, she missed out on the joy of spending time with her many great grandchildren.

She will be sadly missed.

The funeral will take place on 15th December at 1.30 pm and will be held at Stonehouse Methodist Church, followed by interment at St. Cyr’s Church, Stonehouse. Due to the current restrictions, the numbers attending will be limited.

OLIVE ARMITAGE

Formerly of Brownshill, Stroud.

Died peacefully on 30th November 2020 aged 96 years whilst in the care of Winslow House, Nailsworth.

Wife of the late Ken and mother to Sue, Judith and the late Anthony.

Grandma to five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Sadly passed away on Friday 4th December 2020, aged 85 years.

BARBARA MAY CLEAVER

Formerly of West Grange Court and Marling Crescent, Paganhill, died peacefully at Highborder Lodge, 29.11.20, aged 96.

Barbara was an amazing woman, darling wife of the late Arthur, much loved by her children, Tony, Liz and Nick and daughters-in-law, by her grandchildren and partners and by her great grandchildren and many friends.

Barbara always said she’d had a wonderful life.

She loved her job, travelled widely on many adventures with her family and friends, and took immense pride in the achievements of her children and grandchildren.

She was an endlessly kind and energetic presence in the lives of those around her.

Due to current restrictions, there will be a private service at Gloucester Crematorium, but the family plan to have a Memorial Service in 2021, post-Covid.

JOHN DAVID PHILLIPS

1929–2020

Much loved father and grandfather died peacefully on 28th November, aged 91, in Looe, Cornwall.

Born and educated in Stroud, he sung and worshipped at Rodborough Tabernacle in his youth and was later a Lay Reader at St Laurence Church. He was a teacher and housemaster at Cheltenham College in 1952–1971 and headmaster of Marling School, Stroud, in 1971–1985.
