The case rates for coronavirus in Stroud have fallen by nearly 30% in the week up to January 13 according to Public Health England.
This follows reports that there has been a decline in cases in 89% of authorities across the country.
Out of the 315 local authorities in England just 36 (11%) have seen a rise in cases compared with 279 that have seen a fall.
The figures, for the seven days to January 13, are based on tests carried out in laboratories (pillar one of the Government’s testing programme) and in the wider community (pillar two).
The rate is expressed as the number of new cases per 100,000 people.
Data for the most recent four days (January 14-17) has been excluded as it is incomplete and does not reflect the true number of cases.
The below table shows the figures for the local authorities with Stroud, the Cotswolds and Gloucester showing a significant decreases in case rates.
