Sawyers Electrical shop at Chalford Hill is to close down

One of the shop's customers, Bob Kingsland, said he was sad that the shop's owner, David Young, had decided to wind down the business.

In a letter to the SNJ, he wrote: "In spite of the increasing use of the internet, David has continued to provide fantastic service to many customers in this area, both with the supply and repair of electrical goods.

"And he is one of an increasingly rare type of person who clearly valued the business placed with him, however small, and has been a delight to deal with.

"He will, I am sure, be sadly missed by his many loyal customers, and we wish him well for the future."
