Heritage Party candidate for Stroud District Council and Gloucestershire County Council Richard Nurse explains why he thinks you should vote for him on Thursday.

My name is Richard Nurse and I am standing in Cainscross Ward for the district election and Rodborough Division for the county council election.

I am 38 years old, a husband, father, and a dog owner. I live in Cashes Green, Stroud. Currently I am studying for the final year of my part time HNC in Mechanical Engineering with the University of South Wales and while I am a part time student, I have been an agency lorry driver working for various companies between Tewkesbury and Portbury docks.

I am standing for the Heritage Party in this local election. London Assembly member David Kurten started the Heritage party in May 2020. I encourage people to visit heritageparty.org and look for themselves what David has set up the party for.

I understand that everyone has had an onslaught of media coverage regarding Covid-19, again I would encourage everyone to do their own research and check details for themselves regarding this topic. I will state here, the Office for National Statistics has recorded age standardised mortality rates for the UK since 1942. Between 1942 and 2020 (a 78-year period), 2020 saw the 12th lowest levels of deaths per capita 1,043.5. That means, for comparison, the worst year was 1951 which saw 2,373.2 deaths per 100,000 population. There are 67 years that have seen higher deaths than 2020 per capita.

Based on this I do not believe that the UK experienced a ‘pandemic’. The alarming death figures for April 2020 are explained by government decisions to move the sick from hospitals and to nursing homes, this was a terrible decision with residents of nursing homes paying the ultimate price for this mistake with their lives.

Since at least the time of Sir Edward (Ted) Heath between 1970 and 1974, the UK has been mismanaged and on a purposeful decline. Successive governments, be them Labour or Conservative, have not had your best interests or the nation states best interest as their guiding principle.

By giving your vote to either of the main parties the following saying is true: “Insanity Is Doing the Same Thing Over and Over Again and Expecting Different Results”. Standards of living have declined, national debt has skyrocketed, the value of the pound has decreased against inflation, yet wages have not gone up with inflation. Taxes are at record levels. The standard of what is taught in the schools has lowered and the institutions that manage are lives are not at a level to be proud of.

I ask for your vote to start to change this at a local level with an eye on building a different option to Labour and Conservative when the 2024 general election arrives.
