A scene guard is in place at an address in Stonehouse following the death of a woman which is being treated as suspicious, Gloucestershire Constabulary have confirmed.
A statement read:
"Police were called to a property on Bath Road at 12.30am today, Sunday 28 November, where it was reported that a woman had been injured.
"Paramedics attended and the woman, aged in her 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers are working to identify a next of kin.
"A 53-year-old man from Cheltenham has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident and remains in police custody for questioning.
"The Major Crime Investigation Team is investigating the death and anyone with information which could assist is asked to contact police.
