A MAN from Nailsworth has been told to pay £419 for dropping a cigarette in Gloucester city centre last summer.
Andrew White, 49, of Bridge Street, Nailsworth, was charged with throwing down, leaving or otherwise depositing litter, on London Road in Gloucester on June 14, 2021.
On Thursday, January 6, the defendant was found guilty of the offence via the single justice procedure (SJP).
SJP is where defendants accused of minor, non-imprisonable offences are given the option to plead guilty and have their case heard by a magistrate without a court hearing.
Mr White was fined £220, ordered to pay a surcharge of £34 and costs of £165.
