ON FRIDAY we went around Stroud to see how many empty shops there were in the town.

The article we wrote about 10 empty shops certainly sparked a debate about what the town needs.

Some of these locations are businesses which have moved premises whilst others have only recently shut.

As with our stories about the potential Levelling-up-Bid, it’s clear that many people in Stroud know what they think is missing from the town.

We received many comments on our Facebook post about what people wanted to see in Stroud.

Here is a pick of some of them.

Clothing

Kelly Rimmer: “H&M to cater for women’s, men’s, children’s, and baby clothing!”

Leanne Williams: “Primark, H&M, Next, a toy shop.”

Matthew Vizor: "Men’s clothes. I’ve not bought a pair of jeans in Stroud since Fosters."

Pam Blanche: “B&M and Primark.”

Sara Patterson: “Primark, Poundland, M&S, New Look and Select.
