THE OWNER of a fashion boutique in Stroud has reacted to its closure.

Sub Couture - which opened in July 2020 in King Street - recently closed.

Co-Owner Louise Aiken has given her reaction: "Sub Couture opened our Stroud boutique in July 2020.

"It was our pride and joy -  a beautiful boho shop selling furniture, artwork, homeware, womenswear and menswear.

"We decided to close it down mainly for personal family reasons.

"The pandemic did not give us a fair run at it.

"If only we’d had a year under our belt before COVID hit and major shipping delays due to petrol and Brexit.

"It was just taking too much time away from our boutique in Notting Hill and the website which are both doing very well, as well as our young family.

"We are very sorry we have left Stroud, having made some amazing customers and friends.

"We’d also like to thank The Five Valleys Shopping Centre who were amazing and did everything in their power to keep us there.

"Ultimately, we decided it would be best (to leave) before another fashion season started.

"All credit notes and gift vouchers will be honoured from our sister shop - just email the shop."
