Please could you remind natural England that badger culls are utterly pointless and unlawful !

Absolute, Final death of the great badgers and bovine tb debate 1971 - 28 the feb. 2022, r.i.p.

This highly complex and emotive 50 year old debate is unfortunately based on politicised fake pseudoscience, (1, 4, Tim Roper Badgers) with several very clever optical delusions. Including the DEFRA Guidance to natural england on cull licencing (2, 3)

But there has never actually been any self-sustaining (endemic) reservoir of Badger TB .. at Woodchester, or certainly not across the RBCT cull areas ,or absurdly across the whole HRA ( 2). No-one has noticed , but the very few and only actual tb badgers occur as a dead-end spillover from cattle, which by definition are never infectious enough to spread TB amongst the badger population ,, it isn't self-sustaining, nor back to cattle .

Just 1204 from 1000 sq.km proactive areas, 311 from 900 sq.km. reactive areas, 400 from 576 sq.km. in Downs 2019, 141 from 650 sq.km. Offaly, 286 from 850 sq.km. Four Areas cull

As Even Godfray 2018 noted there is absolutely no point in culling such dead-end spillovers, which have only just caught TB from the preceding cattle herd breakdown.

So please abandon any further widespread badger culls across England, Wales, Eire and Ulster .. utterly meaningless
