THE date for the new speed limit in the Ebley bypass has been revealed.

A temporary 30 mph speed limit is set to be imposed on the A419 Ebley bypass.

It has now been revealed that the speed limit will be in place from Monday, March 21

The new speed limit, which has been reduced from 60mph, will be in place till June 2023.

Why is there a temporary speed limit?

Severn Trent Water's £25 million sewage project in Stroud sewage project began this week.

The third phase of this project will see work taking place in fields adjacent to the Ebley bypass to construct a new sewerage site.

This will start on Monday, March 21.

As such, a temporary 30mph speed limit will be in place from March 21 until June next year.

Temporary traffic lights will also be in place mid-way along the bypass between the Sainsbury's roundabout and Ryeford Industrial Estate for the first three months of this phase.

Temporary traffic lights will be re-introduced at specific times throughout the duration of the work when needed.
