A 20-YEAR-old man from Stroud bared all on national television this week.

George Mellish appeared on Channel 4's dating game show, Naked Attraction, where a clothed person picks a date from six naked contestants.

The pastry chef and baker from the Salt Bakehouse in Stonehouse said he applied to appear on the show as he thought it might be a good way to find a partner.

"I enjoy watching the show because I find it quite funny, so I thought it would be a good idea to see if I could get on it and it's also a good way to find a partner," he said.

"I've done all the normal stuff, so I thought I would try something different.

"It's funny, I'm someone who really likes routine and doing the same things, and then occasionally I just have these moments where I'm like 'let's do something completely different' - something random and unexpected."

He added: "I found it enjoyable, it was a very different experience to anything I've done before, but it was exciting."

George said he wasn't concerned about appearing naked in front of so many people, as he's very comfortable in his own skin.

But on the morning of the filming, which took place in Manchester back in September, a few nerves did kick in.

"I was a bit nervous when I got up there," he said, "but I was was thinking - 'this is such an exciting thing to do, I'm really glad that I'm putting myself out there and doing something like this'."

Although George hooked up with someone from the show, it didn't last.

"It became more like a friendship than a relationship," he said.

Asked if he'd do it again, George said: "I don't think so. It's not really something that I'm looking to do a lot of, I just wanted to try it.

"It's a unique experience and I wouldn't want to ruin that by doing it again."

Since the show aired on Wednesday evening, George said that all the feedback he's had has been positive.

In a post on social media, George's colleagues at the Salt Bakehouse in Stonehouse said: "Well done young man, we are proud of you.

"Not everyone would have it in them to do it.

"It’s pretty cool to be so comfortable with your self to expose all on the television."

George said he hasn't got any more 'out of the comfort zone' plans lined up for the future.

"I think that's me done for now," he said.
