MORE than one hundred supporters recently helped a Gloucestershire-based charity raise several thousands of pounds.

Longfield Community Hospice was delighted to host its latest Walk for Longfield on Sunday, May 15, raising over £4,000 as a result.

Over 150 supporters turned up on the day and enjoyed a bacon buttie before setting off on a 5 or 10K route across Minchinhampton and Rodborough Commons.

Stroud News and Journal:

UkeStroud supplied uplifting ukulele tunes to encourage the walkers, who were welcomed back to the hospice with tea and cake.

The walkers also had the chance to hang a message in memory of their loved ones in Longfield’s picturesque grounds.

Longfield’s Head of Fundraising and Marketing, Rachel Jones, said: “It was our first Walk for Longfield for several years, and we were delighted with the turnout!

Stroud News and Journal:

"It was fantastic to see so many people turning up to support the hospice and it was lovely to see everyone enjoying their treat en route from Winstone's Ice Cream and of course the tea and cake back at the hospice.”

Longfield supports people in Gloucestershire with a life-limiting illness, from diagnosis onwards.

As well as providing Hospice at Home care, Longfield also offers help and support to patients, families and carers at its Wellbeing Centre in Minchinhampton.
